  Cult Files Vol. 1 - "She's So Out" is dedicated to one of the best-kept secrets of the contemporary American underground: Matthew Melton.

  This session also marks a rare exception for the channel. Most of the time we stay firmly between the fifties and the early eighties, and contemporary artists seldom make their way into our playlists. With only a handful of exceptions, such as Jay Reatard, Rudi Protrudi and a few other modern musicians who have completely won us over, today's music usually falls outside our radar. Matthew Melton is one of those exceptional cases. His songs grabbed me from the very first listen, and the deeper I explored his catalogue, the more convinced I became that it deserved a session of its own.

  Through projects such as Photobooth, Snake Flower 2, Bare Wires, Warm Soda, Dream Machine and his solo recordings, Melton has created a musical universe entirely his own, where garage, power pop, glam, fuzz, psychedelia and rock'n'roll coexist with remarkable ease. His songs overflow with irresistible melodies, rich vocal harmonies and sparkling guitars, drawing equally from the classic sounds of the sixties and seventies and the very best of contemporary garage rock.

  This selection explores different stages of his career and highlights the remarkable consistency of a songwriter who has managed to preserve his unmistakable musical identity across a remarkable variety of bands and projects. From the youthful energy of Photobooth and Snake Flower 2 to the power pop and punk-infused hooks of Warm Soda, or the hard rock and progressive influences of Dream Machine, every track confirms his extraordinary gift for writing immediate, infectious and utterly addictive songs.

  A session dedicated to one of those musicians who never received the recognition he truly deserved, yet whose catalogue remains an endless source of hidden treasures for anyone with a passion for garage, power pop and unforgettable guitar music.

Cheap and Nasty #2 Lost Punk Rock Hits 77-82

  If the first volume was a tribute to those afternoons spent discovering impossible bands on the Killed By Death compilations, this second chapter continues digging through the darkest corners of late seventies and early eighties punk.

  Here you'll find cult favourites, complete outsiders and a generous handful of bands that left behind little more than a few recordings before disappearing. From the youthful urgency of The Running Sores, FU2 and The Outsiders to the more twisted sounds of Sado-Nation, Flux Of The Pink Indians and Corpse Grinders, alongside unclassifiable oddities such as Disco Pope, Night Fever and Llamando al profesor Baxter.

   Teenage Zombies #5 vuelve a abrir la cripta sonora de Estación Zombie con otra sesión dedicada al universo donde chocan el rock & roll salvaje de los 50s y 60s, el garage primitivo, los instrumentales infecciosos y el delirante mundo del cine fantástico y de terror de serie B.

   En esta quinta entrega la transmisión pirata se vuelve todavía más cinematográfica. Entre canción y canción aparecen trailers, diálogos y anuncios de películas donde desfilan vampiros elegantes, científicos irresponsables, brujas vengativas, pandillas juveniles, marcianos invasores y monstruos que parecen escapados de un laboratorio de utilería barato. Todo mezclado como si alguien hubiera empalmado una cinta de radio nocturna con una maratón de películas de madrugada. 📼🧟

   El recorrido pasa por piezas explosivas del rock más primitivo como “Goo Goo Muck” de Ronnie Cook, rarezas salvajes de rockabilly y garage, instrumentales de espíritu selvático y ritmos que parecen hechos para sonar en un sótano lleno de adolescentes bailando el twist mientras en la televisión aparece un tráiler de Monster A-Go-Go o Spider Baby.

   Entre tumbas, pantanos y laboratorios secretos aparecen también voces míticas del cine exploitation y del fantástico europeo y mexicano, recordándonos que en el universo Teenage Zombies la música y el cine siempre comparten la misma tumba… y la misma fiesta.

   Subid el volumen, encended el proyector y dejad que esta nueva emisión os lleve a una sesión doble imposible, donde el rock más crudo convive con vampiros, hombres lobo, científicos locos y héroes enmascarados. 🦇📻
