  While the first two volumes were devoted to rescuing hidden gems from punk's golden years, this third instalment continues the search through forgotten singles, tiny independent labels and bands that, for one reason or another, slipped through the cracks of rock history.

  Here you'll find another collection of Lost Punk Rock Hits recorded between 1977 and 1983. Songs by bands that experienced punk from the fringes, far removed from magazine covers and the household names everyone remembers. From the raw energy of The Pigs, Adrenalin and The Flys to the DIY spirit of Kleenex, Zounds and X-X, alongside forgotten treasures from Australia, Canada, Iceland and other corners of the world where punk developed an identity all its own.

  As always, there's room for every shade of the genre: breakneck punk, streetwise power pop, edgy new wave, teenage attitude, sharp humour and that unmistakable charm of records made with far more enthusiasm than money. Many of these bands managed to release only one or two singles before disappearing, yet in those few minutes they captured all the urgency and freedom that made punk so special.

  What connects these groups isn't a particular sound, but a shared way of thinking about music. The belief that anyone could start a band, press a record and leave behind proof that they had existed, even if only for a few months. Some vanished without a trace. Others eventually became cult favourites among collectors and seekers of forgotten sounds.
